Come and enjoy
the third annual fully supported bicycle ride in the gorgeous Ouachita Mountains. This is a challenging ride just 4 hrs northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area that will test the cyclist with in. This is an out and back 82 Mile ride, which spans one of the highest mountain ranges between the Appalachians and the Rockies. One breathtaking panorama follows another as this national forest scenic byway winds along the crest of the forested peaks between Mena, Arkansas, and Talihina, Oklahoma.
Start time Saturday September 27 at 8AM from Queen Wilhelmina state park perched high atop rugged Rich Mountain nearly 3,000 feet above sea level stretching to Talihina, Oklahoma. You will have rest stops along the way to refresh yourself, so you will be able to enjoy the 20 scenic overlooks after you conquer climbs up to 3 miles long and 18+% grades. Being such a challenging ride the best part of the out and back is you are able to do a 40 Mile ride and still enjoy the beauty of this mountain top. As you arrive at the turnaround point you will have lunch waiting for you so you can fuel up for the ride back.
There will be a Spaghetti dinner at 4:00 following the ride for the
riders and guests.
New this year For safety reasons we are limiting registration to the first 100 riders.
There is also fun for non-cyclist as the mountain offers activities for
the whole family. We also have some riders that like to take an unsupported ride to Mena and back before heading back home
on Sunday.
